Commercial Description:
A malty and easy drinkable barleywine with notes of caramel, chocolate, baked chestnuts and discrete hopping. The beer has been matured for several months before release providing it with a soft character. Of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle like all of our beers.

Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a thin whjite head. Solid aroma of resinous and spicy hops with caramel. Very good flavor of resinous and spicy hops with a sturdy caramel malt and a strong bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation.

500ml swing-top bottle bought at Ølbutikken, Copenhagen in August 07. After almost half a year in my cellar the sediments cling to the bottom, so the russet body colour has got a good clarity. Thin, beige head. Great smell of tangy hops alongside aroma of spicies. The taste brings sweet sappy, overriped fruits on a malty backbone with piney hints. Firm bitter finish. Noticeable alcohol. Well bodied (very much enjoyed during the polar night in Tromsø, 27.12.2007).

Thanks to kxkeller for this one. Pours with a thin fleeting head over a clear, dark brown body. Complex malt aroma. Earthy. The flavor follows the aroma with some hop dryness at the back.

From the bottle at Logan’s Pre-GABF Party. Very malty sweet aromas. Dark Fruit, caramel. Flavors were similar with some hopping on the finish. Very good.

Comments: Delicious munich malt, cerealic, caramelly extraction. Smooth palate calms down the enthusiasm of the shouting American hops – citrusy, resiny. Strong, but diplomatic.

Bottle. Aroma shows some caramelly malt, also some piney hops, quite sappy as well. Palate is smooth and sweet, with the caramel coming through on the palate. Continues the sweertness towards the end with sweet lychee hop flavours. Piney and sappy hops as well. Probably a touch to sweet in the end, but some nice flavour in here.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy red-amber body with a moderate beige head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, light pine, and herbs. Flavor of caramel malt, citric/pine hoppiness, alcohol, nuts, and chocolate with a dry finish.

A btl shared with Springslicker, Tronraner and myself. An aroma of light dried fruit. A light brown pour with no head or lace. A very average flavor of dried fruit. A bit of a thin watery palate. A decent BW but thin and flavor is average.
