Commercial Description:
A malty and easy drinkable barleywine with notes of caramel, chocolate, baked chestnuts and discrete hopping. The beer has been matured for several months before release providing it with a soft character. Of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle like all of our beers.

Bottle. Clear amber colour with a large creamy fully lasting head and a good lacing. Sweet malty aroma with notes of fruit and spice with a nice bitterness. Good barleywine.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle at Chris O’s Shindig. Dark amber colour with an off white head. Typically lovely and o.t.t. Danish aroma. Very hoppy, barley sugar and a slight peaty note. Flavour is almost exactly the same. Glorious stuff. Long long barley and hops finish. The usual stunning Ølfabrikken palate. Another excellent beer from one of my favourite brewers.

Dark brown colour, with red hue and a beautiful creamy head. Malt and caramel aroma, lightly fruity (the yeast). The body is thick; the flavor starts with the malt, then it’s dominated by the sticky caramel, that grows into a more bitter caramel; in the final the (sweet) caramel is balanced by a fair amount of roasted malt (that differentiates this from other Barley Wines) and by an almost hidden presence of hops more aromatic (and fruity) than usual. Atypical but good.

Dark brown colored with red hints. Little yellow head. Nice fruity aroma with apple and mild alcohol, yeast also there with some brown sugar. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is richer with warming alcohol, still rather sweet with bitter hops and caramel. Alcohol lasts in aftertaste with toffee and wood. Rather high carbonation.

Bottle. Clear medium amber brown color with a small to average frothy fair lacing mostly lasting beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pine needle, moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
