Commercial Description:
ØLFABRIKKEN COLUMBUS PALE ALE is a tribute to the American Columbus hop, which we love so much at Ølfabrikken. The beer presents itself with astonishing pungent aroma of pine and grapefruit, which is coming back in the flavor, balanced by sweetness from British caramel-malt. The aftertaste is long and dry and characterized by hops bitterness. Serve it with creole food such as blackened fish and dirty rice with melted butter, homemade chili/raisin/apple chutney. Ølfabrikken Columbus Pale Ale is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized like all Ølfabrikken beers.

Bottle@LCRBM. Floral and soapy aroma, but not in a bad way. Amber color, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, floral, bitter. Very flavorful for just 5% ABV.

(Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 2 Aug 2007) Dark amber colour with ruby notes, brief white head. Fruity nose with dark fruit, citrus, grapefruit and a hint of rubber. Fruity taste with citrus, pink grapefruit, dark fruit, nuts and hints of rubber. As expected from Ölfabrikken, a good, solid, hoppy ale. Very nice!

Aroma is pure grapefruit and some pine. Hazy, dark amber coloured with an off-white head. Taste is bitter, heavy on the hops, pine and grapefruit in it. Dry. Quite straight forward.

Beautiful red-mahogany color. Very nice hoppy aroma, fruity, a lot of apricots. Very good mouthfeel, good sweet caramel flavor and very good hopping, both fruity (bitter oranges) and resiny, leading to a long and strong final. And this with a reasonable alcohol content. Excellent.
