Commercial Description:
ØLFABRIKKEN COLUMBUS PALE ALE is a tribute to the American Columbus hop, which we love so much at Ølfabrikken. The beer presents itself with astonishing pungent aroma of pine and grapefruit, which is coming back in the flavor, balanced by sweetness from British caramel-malt. The aftertaste is long and dry and characterized by hops bitterness. Serve it with creole food such as blackened fish and dirty rice with melted butter, homemade chili/raisin/apple chutney. Ølfabrikken Columbus Pale Ale is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized like all Ølfabrikken beers.

220ml draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen where the brew was served at a perfect drinking temperature. A thin ring of foam around the rim of the glass. Slightly hazy dark-red body. Aroma of bitter fruits and caramel. Quite well hopped flavour. Prolonged bitter aftertaste. Smooth and refreshing (01.08.2007).

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours brown amber with a creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel malty and slight grany aroma, clear grape fruit hops note. Sweet fruity flavour with a nice caramel base beneath grape fruit hops. Nice strong bitterness in a dry finish. Nice, very classic Ølfabrikken.

Draft at "Plan B", Copenhagen. An unclear red beer with a small creamy head. The aroma is dominated by hops with herbal and piney notes. The flavour is lovely with hops, good maltiness and again citric hops. The finish is quite bitter and remains in your mouth for a long time. A very good beer.

Draught @ Ølbaren, Copenhagen. Pours a clear reddish amber color with an off-white head. Has a hoppy malty citrus aroma. Sweet malty hoppy flavor with some citrus hints. Sweetish hoppy finish with a bitter aftertaste.

Clear amber color, thick cloudy beige head, some lace. Intensive hoppy nose (cut grass). Mouthfeel starts sharp and metallic, iron is there all the way. Pale malts are subdued, green grass hop flavors are up in the aftertaste. Hints of barnyard too! Ok brew, but somehow components of it are not well-balanced as in "normal" Pale ale.

Draught. Red-orange-yellow colour (really!) and bubbly white foam. Fantastic aroma! Perfume, orange, nuts. Wow. Taste is very balanced, not as strong as I expected, but full and with a looong finish.

(Draught) Hazy amber with a smallish, but lasting and tight head. Very grape-citrus-hoppy, almost harsh aroma. Slightly sweet, very fruity flavor with crisply citrusy hopping. Crisp and refreshing palate with medium carbonation. A very crisp and fresh pale ale. The aroma reminded me a bit of Severin Extra, but luckily it was only the first impression...

Fad. Udemærket pale ale, med en klassisk amerkiansk humlet udgave. Minder dog meget om en vandet udgave af Liberty Ale
