Commercial Description:
ØLFABRIKKEN DARK MILD is our march experimental ale and our interpretation of the British worker's favourite ale. Dark Mild is unusually complex for a beer with such modest alcohol content. It is a bit hoppier than traditional milds and as such more refreshing. The malt profile is adjusted with a pinch of molasses sugar, providing notes of dark rum. Ølfabrikken Dark Mild is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. It looks clear, copper color and a small, beige head. Chocolate, mocha and some coffee in the aroma. Malty flavor, balanced by a nice hop-level, but maybe a bit sweet. Medium body and a balanced finish with a pronounced maltyness and hoppiness and some caramel-like notes. A really nice one considering the low ABV. (070413)

Muddy brown, dark mahogany. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and yeast. The flavour is slightly sweet with notes of caramel and roasted malt, and the body is quite full.

Bottle. Hazy brown with a shortlived off white head. Sweet caramel along with fresh hops gives an amazing aroma. Flavour of tobacco, licorice and hops. Delicous beer!

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy orangey brown with an off-white head. Becomes extremely muddy as you reach the yeast sediment. Discreet aroma of roasted malt. Fairly light body with flavours of coffee and lightly burned malts. Discreet underlying sweetness. A light bitterness in the finish from the burned malts. Very quaffable. 300906

Confusing or at least untraditional style as the hopping is clearly American. Nonetheless, a nice and pleasant ale with a fine balance.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown colour with a tan head. Roasted malty chocolate aroma. Smooth roasted malty flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a nice roasted malty finish. A little fin though.
