Commercial Description:
Near Ølfabrikken is a field with 1000 raspberry plants carrying a late sort of small and very flavorful raspberries. Once a year we pick the raspberries and throw them into a single brew. Due to The harvest 2005 was characterized by more rain and colder weather than usual, which meant than the berries was more tart than usual and even more complex in flavor. We decided that the base beer should be complex and sweet to match the berries. The resulting beer made from seven different malts, three different sugars, five different hops and a Belgian ale yeast provides a huge body and complexity matching the raspberries. Ølfabrikken Dekadence 2005 is of course unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Thanks to Jason for this one. A clear amber body that becomes muddied by the dregs. Aroma is a wonderful sour apple cider with other fruits as well, namely strawberry and raspberry. Flavor is much the same with a light sourness of raspberry fruit.

Courtesy of kramer17801. Cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Sweet, raspberry nose with lots of toffee, dusty yeast and light cherry. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately tart with caramel, lots of raspberry, some lactic acids, cherry pie brettanomyces anjd cheese. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation. oh wait, also malts and yeast.

500mL bottle, courtesy of kramer17801. Thanks, Jason! Pours a hazy, reddish-auburn color; mostly headless. Lots of boozy raspberries, dried and pitty red fruits in the aroma; solid fruitiness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: relaxed carbonation; sticky red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), with a touch of tartness and pittiness; dense fruit beer without being overly sticky; lengthy finish, showing plenty of sugar and red fruit.

Thanks to kramer17801. Poured into a mason jar a dark purple with a pinkish head. Nose definitely has some strong raspberry aromas, prickly, sugary, tart, dry, a great combination. Smooth, pretty low thickness considering the ABV, with some nicely integrated tart fruit (real fruit) along with some sweeter notes and a little hint of alcohol. Also malts and yeast.

Tasted at the BA Alesmith release. Surprised to see a Olfabrikken. But good stuff none the less. Interesting flavors of some tart fruits. Also malts and yeast.

Thanks to cquiroga for sharing at the AS release! Love to see his cellar! Nose smells like raisins mixed with an old time iron supplement like Geritol; hazy brown with a medium beige head; flavor is raisin pie and iron. Unusual In over 1800 other beers I have tasted this flavor in one other beer, but I can’t remember which!

Thanks to cquiroga for bringing this to the Alesmith Release party line tasting. What a great opportunity. Reddish brown pour. Aromas of blackberry. (maybe it’s because we decided it was a blackberry on the label and not a raspberry.) Somewhat tart. Malty bready aromas too. Flavors were similar with touches of molasses between very fruity blackberry notes. Pretty good.

En fantastisk øl med en meget kraftig smag af bær. Alkoholen overvælder aldrig den delikate aroma, hvilket er imponerende hvis man tager procenten i betragtning.
