Commercial Description:
When the weather is cold enough we brew bottom fermented beers at Ølfabrikken. This German inspired lager is dark, malty and sweet as a real doppelbock but nontraditional hopped with floral and citrussy US Glacier hops for more freshness and springtime crispness. Ølfabrikken Fabrikator is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Københavnske Øldage 2006'.

Hazy amber with creamy tan head. Fresh malty hop character. Malty with alcoholic finish. Could be cleaner executed.

Pours a dark brown body with a red gleam and a foamy tan head. Mild dominating sweet malt aroma with a little bit of caramel and spices and some hop noticeable as well. More powerfull flavor, sweet malty and spicy with a grassy note and some dark fruit. Sharp finish with a biding spicyness. Not bad at all, but a bit mild for a doppelbock. Nice though, to try an Ølfabrikken beer without a dominating hop note :-) Well brewed.

Draught. Weak aroma for an Ølfabrik beer, but it has a little aroma hops. Slightly cloudy brown colour. Small creamy head. The flavour is quite fruity for a doppelbock. The aftertaste seems a bit more bottom fermented and quite malty and roasted. The alcohol kicks in rather pleasantly along with a little sourness after a while.

Øl fået til Ølentusiasternes festival 2006. Bedømmelsen kan derfor være skæv pga. mængden. Parfumeret og frugtagtig smag. Rød øl med meget holdbart skum.

Bottle Hazy, brown head. Complex aroma of raisins, liquorice, liquor, red port, wine. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter in the end. The flavour isn’t that complex at all as the aroma. But still very warming and soft.

Draught @ KØ 2006: Reddish brown. Hazy. Light brown head. Sweet and fruity aroma (Prunes). Some caramelly notes. Flavour is very fruity as well. Is a bit too sweet here. Is quite full bodied. Is dry and fruity in the end.
