Jun 7, 2006 A deep red beer with a thick bubbly reddish-orange-brown head (no, I can’t make up my mind). The aroma is thick with notes of over ripe fruits, prunes, alcohol, wood, and fresh cowberries - very complex. The flavor is sweet with notes of prunes, figs, wood, over ripe fruits, and with an acidity like sucking on sloe berries (I used to shoot them from electrical pipes when I was a kid - so I know) on a sweet malty and toffeeish back ground. The end is dry with the notes of sloe berries and figs lingering for some time, just to be taken over by a woodyness that out lasts them. A very complex Doppelbock with a very intriguing flavor composition - not traditional, but very interesting.

May 21, 2006 [Draught at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear copper colour. Sweet, very fruity and lightly roasty. There’s some toffee, but it’s harsh, raw and unrefined with low bitterness.

May 30, 2006 Draught. Weak aroma for an Ølfabrik beer, but it has a little aroma hops. Slightly cloudy brown colour. Small creamy head. The flavour is quite fruity for a doppelbock. The aftertaste seems a bit more bottom fermented and quite malty and roasted. The alcohol kicks in rather pleasantly along with a little sourness after a while.

Jan 28, 2007 Bottle. Deep red colour with a medium off-white head. Sweet malty and hoppy aroma. Flavour is sweet, fruity, bit spicy, some hoppiness.
