Commercial Description:
This beer was brewed to celebrate the Great Danish Beer Festival. It is a Belgian inspired amber ale which has been conditioned for six months for extra smoothness. The malts are balanced by delicious Czech Saaz hops. Ølfabrikken Festival Reserve is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Københavnske Øldage 2006'. Only available in 1½ liter champagne bottles.

(on bottle) Dark orange, white head. Old cellar aromas; some chapions and vanillabeans too. Really smooth mouth, rubs the tounge really firm and good. Heavy malt taste, along with a hint of allspice. Good, warming finish.

150 cl bottle at Bjørnars x-mas party. Bottle # 170 of 450. A bit hazy brown color, fine off-white to beige head. Aroma is very malty with hints of yeast. Flavor is malty with much sweetness, a touch of wood (vanilla), moderate bitterness, some yeast. Smooth and very drinkable, but not a very complex and balanced beer.

Hazy nut brown color, small off-white head. A bit oxidazed, some fudge and vanilla in the nose. Medium-carbonated and -bodied. Vanilla, fruits in the flavor. Very nice beer with lots of ageing potential.

RBESG08 grand tasting 2008. Hazy brown gold, lasting beige head. Sourish, sweet malt aroma. A little too much on the malts maybe. OK, but, not sure about this. Yeasty malty hop.
