Has to get a default score for appearance as I was limited to the tail end of the bottle, so was a rather sludgy yellow colour. A difficult beer to categorise, so lets not bother to try. It certainly has some yeasty Belgian character, although that may have been emphasised by the fact that I got most of the yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Flowery and a little spicy, although I’d be hard pressed to identify the spices involved. Thought I picked up some honey notes too. The alcohol was noticeable, but not too intrusive. Perhaps lacked a little hop presence, but I’d really like to try a whole bottle of this to get a more rounded experience.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Strong floral, perfumey, lavender aroma with plenty of cake-like yeast and some hints of alcohol. Opaque yellow straw coloured body with dense and lasting cover of white head. Floral, lavender, spicy, perfumey hops over a sugary sweet malt base. Light body with soft but lively carbonation that engages the tongue and awakens the tastebuds. Bottle sampled at RBESG 2005. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

The alcohol was the first thing i noticed on this one, so i guess that not a good start. Some sweet pale malt, slightly yeasty/citrusy, with some herbal/floral characters. The alcohol shows though, and thats probably why i didn’t like this one so much. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Sweet and honeyish with medium body and notes of sugar. The sweetness hides the alcohol well, but gets a bit much. Sigmund (2293), Hafrsfjord, Norway

Refreshing elderflower and cloves (also coriander?) flavour. The high ABV is well hidden. Papsoe (15009), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Very fruity nose - banana? Yeast up there too. Quite full-bodied with loads of malt and some indefinable spices. Very delicate - but an unusually strong brew for a spring seasonal. 120805

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2005 Bottle RBESG. Smells a bit like abricots and malts. Flavor is quite powerful. I’m not sure, why it’s called "spring". It could be served all year round in my opinion.
