swing top bottle (500ml). –Cola coloured, small almost no head. Roasted malt aroma with slight coffee notes, very sour. Unpleasant vinegar finish.
Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Oct 18, 2006 Bottle (8/12) courtesy of Papsoe (thanks!), shared with ozujsko The age and travel must’ve ruined this one the most. Opaque brown body, no head. The nose is roasty with some malt. The taste... some malt, roastiness again, a bit sour and watery. Blah. Disappointing, and, as someone said before, not really like a Scottish Ale. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 27, 2006 Bottled. Copper-colored, clear ale with a beige head. Roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and some wood in the aroma. Roasted malt and coffe in the flavor, as well as some sweetness. Full body and a lightly dry and roasted bitterness in the finish. (060530) gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 13, 2006 Bottle. Brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is roasted caramel and vanilla. Flavour is roasted sweet caramel, malt and vanilla. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Jun 3, 2006 Bottled. Hazy copper brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma of fruits, raisins and malt. Flavour is raisins, caramel and roasted malt. The roasted malt stays a while in aftertaste. Kind of sweet notes too. Wellbalanced. Coffee stays long in aftertaste. Nice brew. So far Ølfabrikken has impressed me. TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Jun 3, 2006 [Bottled] (BB 06/2006).
Almost opaque muddy brown, small but firm tan head. Roasted malty, tobacco nose. Chocolaty, roasted, not very sweet, lots of tobacco. And certainly not very "Scottish Ale".
