Commercial Description:
An Ølfabrikken guest brew. For the second time we have invited one of our colleagues to come by and do any brew he or she would like.
ØLFABRIKKEN MCWILDER is a Scottish ale brewed with no less than three types of roasted malts. The result is a complex ale with a pleasant malt sweetness and notes of smoke and chocolate. McWilder is brewed by Nick Wilder who has been trained in the art of brewing in both USA and Germany.
McWilder is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

A small fast disappearing head tops this dark brown/muddy looking ale. Its supposed to be a scottish ale. Its much more roasted than any scottish ale I ever had and much longer after taste. Overall a nice ale.

Murky deep amber beer with a small tan head. Light roasted malty aroma with a coffee bitterness and a light cabbage note. Malty flavor with a light burnt edge and hints of fruit and nuts. Dry bitter finish.

Bottle. Brown colour with a big beige head. Light roasted, butter, grassy aroma and a sweet butter taste. Medium body with a sweet butter finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark brown with an orangey glow and a creamy, beige head leaving some laces. Roasted, vaguely burned nose. Medium body with loads of roasted malt - surprisingly sweet roasted malt - nicely balanced by some lightly burned, coffeeish notes. Short, dry finish with the malt managing to leave some stout-like bitterness. Quite yummy actually. 250105

Fine though disappearing off-white head, hazy dark brown body. Sweet and very creamy aroma with some spices and a grassy note. Weird flavor with elements hard to detect. Malt, mushrooms (I know Ivan, but I can taste it too....), earth etc. Reminds me of another Danish microbrewery Scottish ale that I didn’t like so I guess the style Danish Scottish Ales is not something for me! My least favorite from Ølfabrikken ever! A more sutiable name would be McVildtgær.......moooaaahahahahaha!

(on bottle)There is soem hing wrong with this beer; hadet rated it, if it wasen´t for the fact that it´s suppose to be a scottish ale; anything goers in Scotland. Semihazy, light brown with a disapearing beige head. Nice esent of malt and herbs, right back to the moor. The taste is weird though and without pinpointing it, a flaw must lure somewhere, it´s a slightly rotten, flat and mushroomism taste, not plesant.
