Commercial Description:
An Ølfabrikken guest brew. For the third time we have invited one of our colleagues to come by and do any brew he or she would like. Gunnhild Kolvereid Brewmaster at Brewpub Copenhagen has made a sour brown ale brewed with a normal Belgian ale yeast as well as brettanomyces, pediococcus and lactic acid bacteria. The beer has been matured on french oak and sour cherries and bottle conditioned for six moths before release. It is bottled with brettanomyzes which provides the beer with a nice sparkle underscoring the refreshing sourness. Unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Sour aroma and flavor. This beer is a combination of styles with the sour acidity and vinegar-like flavor of a Flanders brown and the yeasty, barnyard, wild quality of a saison. It reminds me of Orval, but with the addition of cherries and lots of yeast, it certainly is a fruit beer. Real fruit flavor. Light red color.

Bottle pours dark brown with thick off white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is mainly tart cherry juice. Has a thin body with a lot of carbonation. Flavor is tart cherry, earthy flavors. Its not very complex for the style. Overall its a tasty brew.

Bottle from Fin, with Craig, Stella, Fin, Loz and Traci, at the "What’s This Label Supposed To Be Anyway?" tasting. Cheers Fin! Cheers Kim as well!

Dark red/brown, big layer of off-white settles away to nothing. Cherry cough meds aroma, blood, mint. Sour cherry rhubarb fruit, rust, earthy balsamic vinegar. Nice bright carbonation keeps it light and refreshing. A nice rustic beer. I dig.

Bottle courtesy of Kim Johansen, cheers Kim, shared with Casey, Traci, Craig, Stella and Loz in tasting Pours lively with a big head. Really good tangy cherry, quite sour with a nice dab of sherbert. The bubbles continue to pop like crazy on the surface of this beer. Some tangy unsweetened jam, this just pours as lively as Andrews Liversalts, crazy stuff, nice beer though.

Thanks to Skyview! Murky red color with no head. Light cherry and oak aroma. Very dry and heavy malt flavor. Light cherries and sourness rounding it out. A bit of vanilla and toast from the barrel.

Courtesy SoLan. Ruddy brown color with a persistent light tan head. Aroma is a meld of mild oaky sourness and slight acetic tartness. Taste has a nice, even earthy subdued tartness to it along with some general fruity notes. Not crazy sour, but nice and subtle.

Courtesy Papsoe. Amber/ruby/brown and a small, cream colored head. Lots of funky brett, cherries, oak, lightly toasted malt, and lactic and pedio tartness. Medium body, well carbonated. Very dry finish. Solid.
