Commercial Description:
A dark and cold morning in the winter of 2007 Anders Kissmeyer from Nørrebro bryghus fired up his little smoke oven and started the slow and cumbersome process of preparing the malt for his guest brew on Ølfabrikken. The result of the many hours of hard work in smoke and ice cold winds is in this bottle. It is a brewed with the traditional London Porter in mind, but with a unmistakable Scandinavian twist, with its strong notes of elder-wood smoke. Ølfabrikken Anders Røgporter is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle or keg like all of our beers.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a yellowish light brown head. Sweet smoked aroma with roasted notes peeping out. Slightly metallic notes. Flavour is quite sweet. Some roasted notes. Pitch black with medium brown head. Smoked aroma with roasted malt and coffee notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, liquerice and loads of smoke. Well made but just not my kind of beer.

Bottle. Dark brown/black colour with light brown head. The smoke hits you in the nose but the chocolate takes over. Tastes like a porter with the touch of smoke.

50 cl bottle, via anders37. Pours a very dark brown body with just a tiny bit of light passing thru on the edges. Small wispy film of beige head. Extremely small streams of tiny bubbles. Amazing nose, very aggressive campfire smokiness with great chocolate and roast notes. A little chalky yeast and coffee. The smoke is a little more subtle on the flavor, more of an accent on the middle and finish. Otherwise it’s an excellent Porter in its own right. Chocolaty and roasty with a great dry yeasty undertone. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice fairly creamy texture and perfect moderate super fine carbonation bubbles on the tongue. This was just about right up my alley, two favorite styles in one. I love it. I’d drink alot of this if I could.

Pours an opaque dark brown color with a thin tan head. Solid aroma of roasted and smoked malt (bacon). The flavor is all about malt, a cornucopia of roastyness, chocolate and smoke with mild dryness. The body is light with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Very good and last a long while in the mouth.

Dark beer with only a tinge of reddish color when held up to the light. Thin ring of beige foam around the edge of the glass. Obvious smoke in the nose, like wet bark on the fire, with a hint of stale cigarette, roasted grain and molassess. Smoked flavors of bacon, old barbeque pit, and ash tray. Molassess, roasted grains, dried fruit, red wine tannins, and the finish has hints of bitter chocolate and sweetened coffee. If you do not like smoked beers, stay away from this. I like smoked beers and this is very nice. Thanks to Secret Santa for this bottle.
