Commercial Description:
A dark and cold morning in the winter of 2007 Anders Kissmeyer from Nørrebro bryghus fired up his little smoke oven and started the slow and cumbersome process of preparing the malt for his guest brew on Ølfabrikken. The result of the many hours of hard work in smoke and ice cold winds is in this bottle. It is a brewed with the traditional London Porter in mind, but with a unmistakable Scandinavian twist, with its strong notes of elder-wood smoke. Ølfabrikken Anders Røgporter is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle or keg like all of our beers.

Bottle compliments of Maria! Swingtop opens with gusto and unleashes a smoky nose of fresh wood over a campfire. Pours an oily semi-translucent brown. Thin head. Smoke of the nose rolls unencumbered into the body and mouthfeel of this beauty. Oh yes, this is what I desire in my own homebrew. Dark malts abound but lean harder on the black pat and less on the choc. A dryer finish with a gentle crispness at the front of your tounge.

Bottle, from Kolding Vinhandel. Pours black with a small beige head that quickly ends up as a thin film. Aroma has smoked sausages, a good portion of sweetish roasted malts to back it up. Nice, medium mouthfeel. Flavour is not as smoky as the aroma. Some dark chocolate, roasted malts - a general sweetness. A very charcoal finish, with a small degree of bitterness. Dries out my mouth.

Aroma is of roasted malts and smoke. Opaque, black coloured with a thin head. Taste is sweet with smoke, some chocolate, bit roasted malts and the beer has some fruitiness in the background. Another excellent Olfabrikken brew.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle shared at home with Sim but she had the audacity to pour it back in the bottle and reseal it. Thank you Ølfabrikken for the resealable bottle! Almost black, slight red brown hue. Very little head. Very smoky in the nose with a faint hint of orange and very little else. Smells just like my clothes do after a beach fire. Even more so than most of the other smoked beers I have tried. Flavour has intense rich chocolate upfront with the smoky malt creeping and creeping until it takes over completely and gives a dry finish thats lasts reasonably well. Fairly straight forward, feels like the smoke removes some of its complexity but I like it. But then I love smoked beer full stop.

550 swingtop. Thanks, Maria! Pours deep, opaque black with a thin, filmy tan head. Very sharply smoky nose; you can’t escape the stuff on the pour. Nice! Mild, medium-bodied attack with a thin bit of fizz there. Smoke-forward all over the attack and mid-palate. Lingering finish of...guess what. This is a wonderful first attempt but I think they have a bit of balancing yet to do on this one.

bottle Dark brown (almost black) colour, low head. Nose is really, really smoked. Flavour is really smoked and dry. An excellent and very drinkable, smoked beer.
