Wood, smoke, charcoal, tar and licorice in the aroma, the closest I have ever been to a bottled campfire - but without any overwhelming bacon or sausage smokiness. Really dry and again, tastes like charcoal and wood. The body is just a little watery, but with a fine gentle carbonation. There is a long aftertaste of smoke and licorice. I hope there is a chance of repeating this well balanced recipe. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark

Moderated smoke notes, with some coffee, chocolate, liquorish and some burned notes as well. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated malty sweet flavor with some good balanced burned bitterness. Light burned bitter and smoked finish with a hint of hops. madsberg (5045), Søborg, Denmark

Smoked, light roasted and light coffee in the nose. Has some chocolate notes. Flavour is very smooth and balanced smoked. Light roast and light coffee. Cocoa and a light herbal touch. Is medium to full bodied. A bit dry. Ends on a light smoked, chocolatish bitterness. Quite good smoked porter. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

More a rauchbier than a porter, but OK. Medium smoke and medium drinkability. Maybe served too cold in the swedish nature. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with quickly diasappearing head. Aroma is strongly smoked, has notes of liqourice. Flavour is oily, tar, wood and smoke. There is a subdued note of bitter hops. Strong notes reminding me of Refsvindinge Skipsøl in a stronger note. Finish is long and smoky. beeranarchist (185), Aalborg, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Bottle (#271). Very dark brown with a brown head that disappears rather quickly. Smoke, different from the typical Bamberg, dominates the aroma, but is supported with distinct chocolate and coffee. Wauw what a flavour. Not as smokey as I expected, but it’s definately there. There are also some tobacco, nuts, chocolate and my favourite coffee (Brasil Specialty from Kronen, Aalborg) in the aroma. A little sweet and watery. Theis (3765), Denmark
