Mar 5, 2007 Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of hard roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate and smoke. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate - very bitter dark chocolate, mixed with ground cocoa beans, then a medium note of smoke comes along, that reminds me of tarred rope, and slightly acidic notes from the hard roasted malt also mixes in. The end is extremely dry and the smoky note lingers for a while. Good to clear the smoke hangning in the streets of Copenhagen in the middle of a riot from the throat.

May 14, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Grovlam. Hazy, dark brown with a light brown head. Distinct, baconish aroma. Medium body with roasted and burned malt accents - and again this distinct smoke flavour. There’s some hard to define accents of detergent. The finish is dry - and full of smoke... 090507

Apr 15, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with quickly diasappearing head. Aroma is strongly smoked, has notes of liqourice. Flavour is oily, tar, wood and smoke. There is a subdued note of bitter hops. Strong notes reminding me of Refsvindinge Skipsøl in a stronger note. Finish is long and smoky.

Jun 1, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, fruity, moderate to light heavy smoke, (like burnt electronic). Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (170408)

Black coloured with a beige head.
Roasted and smoked aroma with notes of dried fruits and liquorice.
Roasted and smoked flavour with notes of liquorice and dried fruits.
The beer was served very (too) cold). When cold, the smoke was very dominating, white the smoke was more balanced when the beer was warmer.

Mar 16, 2008 Pitch black with medium brown head. Smoked aroma with roasted malt and coffee notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, liquerice and loads of smoke. Well made but just not my kind of beer.

Jun 1, 2007 It’s a black stout with a huge, creamy, light brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke and roasted malt, and the flavour also has notes of smoke, roasted malt and a light sweetness that often goes hand in hand with smoke. It’s OK, but I think you have to bee a smoke-addict to fully appreciate this one. 2237

Mar 5, 2007 Draught at the Nørrebro brewpub. Nice black colour with a medium fairly lasting creamy head. Aroma of chocolate and quite smoky though not so powerful,. Flavour is smooth, creamy, nice soft smokiness, chocolate, well roasted malt, some sweetness. Nice burned woody finish.
