Commercial Description:
A dark and cold morning in the winter of 2007 Anders Kissmeyer from Nørrebro bryghus fired up his little smoke oven and started the slow and cumbersome process of preparing the malt for his guest brew on Ølfabrikken. The result of the many hours of hard work in smoke and ice cold winds is in this bottle. It is a brewed with the traditional London Porter in mind, but with a unmistakable Scandinavian twist, with its strong notes of elder-wood smoke. Ølfabrikken Anders Røgporter is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle or keg like all of our beers.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of hard roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate and smoke. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate - very bitter dark chocolate, mixed with ground cocoa beans, then a medium note of smoke comes along, that reminds me of tarred rope, and slightly acidic notes from the hard roasted malt also mixes in. The end is extremely dry and the smoky note lingers for a while. Good to clear the smoke hangning in the streets of Copenhagen in the middle of a riot from the throat.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Grovlam. Hazy, dark brown with a light brown head. Distinct, baconish aroma. Medium body with roasted and burned malt accents - and again this distinct smoke flavour. There’s some hard to define accents of detergent. The finish is dry - and full of smoke... 090507

50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with quickly diasappearing head. Aroma is strongly smoked, has notes of liqourice. Flavour is oily, tar, wood and smoke. There is a subdued note of bitter hops. Strong notes reminding me of Refsvindinge Skipsøl in a stronger note. Finish is long and smoky.

Bottle. Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, fruity, moderate to light heavy smoke, (like burnt electronic). Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (170408)

Draught at Nørrebro Bryghus. Black coloured with a beige head. Roasted and smoked aroma with notes of dried fruits and liquorice. Roasted and smoked flavour with notes of liquorice and dried fruits. The beer was served very (too) cold). When cold, the smoke was very dominating, white the smoke was more balanced when the beer was warmer.

Pitch black with medium brown head. Smoked aroma with roasted malt and coffee notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, liquerice and loads of smoke. Well made but just not my kind of beer.

It’s a black stout with a huge, creamy, light brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke and roasted malt, and the flavour also has notes of smoke, roasted malt and a light sweetness that often goes hand in hand with smoke. It’s OK, but I think you have to bee a smoke-addict to fully appreciate this one. 2237

Draught at the Nørrebro brewpub. Nice black colour with a medium fairly lasting creamy head. Aroma of chocolate and quite smoky though not so powerful,. Flavour is smooth, creamy, nice soft smokiness, chocolate, well roasted malt, some sweetness. Nice burned woody finish.
