Sep 21, 2008 99th rating of this brew of 360 total bottles. Bottle via trade with Papsoe, his last bottle shared at Toncatcher’s tasting with sd peeps. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is sweet with a big big big malt feeling. Taste is sweet and chocolately with lots of character, this was a fantastic sipper with so much flavor and complexity, I wish I could have it again, doubt it will happen.

Sep 13, 2008 Bottle from henrikb, at the 2008 Pre-GBBF Chris_o Shindig. Thick, deep black pour, light tan scattering of bubbles. Rich soft chocolate aroma: brownies, cinnamon, a little well-aged Christmas pudding. Not exactly thick on the palale, but round, soft and beautifully mouthfilling: perfect. Trying to conjure of more adjectives for the flavor, but its just chocolate all the way. Molten, decadent, milk chocolate. Yum!

Sep 1, 2008 Chris_o’s GBBF Shindig August 08. Oxidised aroma and apples. Full mouth experience, but not overwhelming. Smooth and coating. An alert chocolate and coffee experience. Milky. Full on and quite pleasant - just pulls short of being too intense. Drinkable.

Aug 10, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Pre GBBF Tasting
Firstly hats off to Casey for pulling off the surprise of the day with this one. A 2005 bottle of something very rare and very special indeed. Nice one mate. Stunning appearance. Black as night with an amazing light brown head. This is three years old now and the signs of age are showing in the cheese and oxidisation in the aroma. Lots of treacle malt and alcohol too. Clearly old. The flavour... f**k this is fantastic. All that I know and love about the old Ølfabrikken Porter plus some lovely sour wooden notes. Full of chocolate malt and caramel. Loads of toffee, chewy as hell. Again some slight oxidisation but the age has really enhanced the flavour where as it was starting to kill the aroma. Superb bitter palate with a gorgeous sourness at the edges. Thick, creamy and perfectly carbonated. A very very good beer.

Aug 4, 2008 Bottle at Chris_o Pre GBBF Shindig 08. It’s a little oxidised in the aroma. Yes, it’s got good choc, yes it makes me feel good and puts a smile on my face. Any better than the regular porter? No I don’t think so.

Aug 3, 2008 Black with medium brown head. Sweet and vinious aroma with with roasted malt, burned caramel, coffee, chocolate and alcohol. Sweet flavor with fairly hard roasted malt, coffee, liquerice, bitter chocolate and vinious notes. Very smooth.

Jun 5, 2008 Brewed 13 dec 2005. Swing top bottle from HenrikB. Beer is almost black and opague. Cream, milk chocoalte and coffee in the aroma, you can smell the beer from a distance. Full bodied. Very malty and sweet with chocolate milk, cream, licorice, coffee and warming alcohol. Thick and muddy, almost like chocolate milk. Absolutely delicious.
