To celebrate my 1000th Danish rating, I drink this, which is the highest rated Danish beer I haven’t had - at the moment it is the 6th higest Danish beer. This gives me 4 countries with 1000 ratings or more.

A pitch black beer with a nice very dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of dark bitter chocolate, combined with notes of oranges, and a bit of hops. The flavor is extremely powerful - quite sweet with very strong notes of dark bitter chocolate, roasted almost burnt malts, caramel, vanilla, wood, cherries, and alcohol, leading to a very bitter end where the chocolate, alcohol, and citrus from the hops lingers around. The mouthfeel is almost like tar. WOW.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and completely opaque with a small, light brown head. Very roasted aroma with a vaguely burned note. Extremely rich and full-bodied with loads of burned, malty accents and some rather unusual fruity hints. Distinct burned and bitter finish. An odd one. 260806 and 070907

[Bottled, thanks Ungstrup!] Very black, near no head. Loads of burnt malt up front. Fairly sweet with massive flavour of coffee and licorice. Very malty and rich with heavy, oily mouthfeel. Notes of burnt rye bread and tar. Shock and awe beer, but not out of balance. Ekstra indeed!

Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 27. Pours dark brown to black with a rim from a brown head. Quite burbon dried malty aroma. Full bodied. Clear liqourice flavour, mellow, malty with a dark chocolate whiff. Very nice.

Clear dark black color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, vintage - alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft to flat. Very very nice so happy to been able to taste this nice beer, the flavour was .. f**k fantastic ;o)) (020808)

Bottle, 8.5%. Batch #55. Pours an oily black liquid with no head, leaving wine-like curtain on my glass when tilted. Distinct liquorice aroma with a little port to it, quite vinous. The flavour is obviously liquorice, first dry, then more salty and sweet. Then there is hoppiness, grassy, aromatic hops. The finish is roasted with a hint of malt bitterness. The mouthfeel is very oily and thick. Low and pleasant carbonation.

Bottled. Dark brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted and sweetish malts. Flavour is strong roast, alcohol and some slight acidic fruityness. Dry fruits in aftertasted. A rather twisted Porter, but I still like it.

Bottle. Black coloured with a beige head. Roasted aroma of dried fruits. Roasted flavour of dried fruits, tar and liquorice. Hoppy finish.
