(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Myrup. Pours a very dark brown - almost black - with a tint of red and a creamy, light brown head leaving laces. Aroma of burned malt and some vanilla. Medium body with burned malts, vanilla and a salty touch. Ends with a distinct, burned malt astringency. Well made. 260208

75 cL bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a little lacing and tan head. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Light annis seed spiced. Thick roasted malt flavour, chocolate and heavy coffee flavoured too. Light liqourice into the finish. Nice lingering vaguely smoked and dominantly roasted coffee flavours.

Bottle. 75cl. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, notes of smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter (malt bitter) with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (100308)

Bottle, 6.5%. Sweet and spicy liquorice aroma. Almost black colour, red shine. Very small brown head. The flavour is nice and roasted. A lot of coffee in both flavour and aftertaste. Also a little sweetness and some cream flavour. The carbonation is low, but still a bit rough. Would have been much nicer with a creamy mouthfeel and carbonation.

Black with a huge, light brown, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, light smoke and sweetness. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, cocoa, light smoke, light sweetness and bitterness and the finish is slightly dry. It’s pleasant, smooth, uncomplicated and charming.

Cork bottle. Pours a clear black colour with a nice beige good lasting head. Aroma of smoke, roasted malt and some coffee. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is moked with roasted malt, some coffee, bit of chocolate and a soft bitterness. Good tasty brew but not like the old Ølfabrikken beers.

A Mes rate: Bottle supped in the Harlequin in Sheffield thanks as so many good beers are, to Jan and Charlotte.
Almost black with a good tan head. It’s clear from my first sniff that this is underrated. A very Scottish smoky malt nose with hints of rubber and faint whiffs of alcohol. The flavour is excellent. Smoke, peat and some lovely earthy malt. Very rubbery, wonderfully dry and laden with burnt toast. This is pretty much a traditional UK style stout. In a blind tasting there is no way I would pick this out as being Danish. Creamy yet dry mouthfeel with perfect carbonation round off a glorious performance. Maybe I was swept away in the moment but I think this is a cracker.
