| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy dark brown colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind an opaque very bark brown colored body with no visible carbonation. The aroma contained malty slightly medicinal vinuous notes. The mouth feel was sharp yet mild at the mellow start with a drk malty finish. The flavor contined notes of dark malt roasted malt and was vinous in its hoppy aftertaste. Decent. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA

Aroma is dominated by rich chocolate and roasted malt notes accompanied by coffee, caramel, licorice and subtle vanilla. Tons of chocolate also present in the flavor, coffee and burnt malts in the back, subtle licorice, and sweet brown sugar throughout. Palate is rich and full and only slightly sticky. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Darkened chestnut pour. No head. Swirled it around to bring out the aroma and a thin, mocha colored froth. Chocolate, mild breakfast blend coffee, molasses, and underlying charcoal. Flavor composition is simple. Roasty chocolate and coffee blend, heavy whipping cream, dark brown sugar, licorice, some sharp fruity notes on the finish, lingering smoke, ash and cocoa powder finish. Very creamy and full. No doubt awesome with brownies. I’ll be gettin’ more. Enmandslauget (19), Fredericia, Denmark

Bitterheden fra den ristede malt samt noget frisk fra humlen passer godt til det cremede. Masser af smag.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2008 Pours with a large, creamy, thick, tan head covering an extremely dark brown (near black body). Good retention and great lacing from the head. Powerful aroma of flowery coffee and beautiful chocolate with toasted malts, and biscut. Taste is sweet chocolate and smokey, dry coffee. Slightly metallic in the middle, bujt finishes without the metal (odd). Some anise and alcohol present in the finish with rich chocolate notes too. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with perfect levels of carbonation. mcox90 (645), Wilton, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 15, 2008 2005 22oz bottle courtesy of Mcbackus. Pours a jet black with ruby edges with a brown 1/2" head and a small amount of lace. Nose is chocolate & malt. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and wonderfully creamy. Goes down like silk. Flavor is an almost perfect combination of semi sweet chocolate, a massive amount of malt & a hint of coffee. Taste was well balanced without any one flavor overwhelming anoher. This was delicious and I’m glad I have two. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA
