| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 7, 2008 From a can - but nice to buy canned beer of such quality! Poured into a pint glass it looks amazing - like the "ur"-porter, if there ever was one. So balanced that it’s almost too much. Everything is in its rigth place. Taste is not too sweet, but hold together by a vaguely hoppy dryness. Rough, but still drinkable, Perfect! akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Updated: Jun 7, 2008The beer was opaque black with a moderate amount of dark brown head. In the aroma and flavor there was sweet candy malt, and burnt malts. There was some smoke and coffee in the flavor as well. The beer had a moderately heavy mouthfeel. Damn fine porter... the Dark Horizon of porters! pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Brown black pour with no head. Smell is mild and woodsy and light smoke. Flavor is nice and malty roasted yum (I am a hint on the buzzed side). Palate is thick and sweet and much better than most porters that I have ever had. Totally shocked for the palate. Overall very nice! renffisch (520), london, Greater London, England
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2008 bottle from ethereal @ the rake. Black with a quickly diminishing head. Nose of oily liquorice, very much like an oyster stout. Tastes of espresso, dark sultry chocolate ant gorgeous malts. maybe a bit too much of everything. smashteroid (251), USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Served cold from 22 oz. bottle. Pours very dark brown (probably black) with a small light-brown head. Aroma of chocolate, sweet malts and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet, rich and full. Somewhat creamy, with a very slightly bitter finish. A very good porter! daknole (3023), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Well I know why this is rated as the best porter in the world. Nice black pour with a pretty small head. Aroma is toasted malts, nuts, chocolate and caramel. Flavor is rich and full...very much like a great stout but toastier and as mentioned, less alcohol. Wonderful. Doesnt get better as it warms, better at optimal serving temps. Love it...and I want more! golubj (1290), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Bottle, black pour with some brown head. Aroma is heavily roasted malts, maybe a little chocolate, not much else. The flavor is similar, a lot of roast, nutty, a little cola. It’s a lot like an impy stout, but with less alcohol. It had a lot of flavor, but I didn’t really enjoy drinking it.
