Aroma of roasted malts, fresh brewed coffee and dark chocolate. Tastes like a black coffee with a strong chocolate finish. Little to no taste of alcohol with a thick feel in the mouth. I would drink again. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 19, 2008 From bottle : Pours black, straight up black, with some carbonation bubbles on the sides of the glass, and a half finger of brown head, that lasts about one minute, then shrinks down to a ring of foam around the glass, and some small patches scattered around the surface of the beer. Big time roasted chocolate malts dominate the aroma, with maybe a small hop presents underneath. Flavor is very rich, roasty and chocolatey at the beginning, then end with a huge rush of chocolate, like chocolate milk almost. That huge chocolate flavor carrys through and stays around for the aftertaste as well. Medium to thick body, with a smooth texture, some slight bitterness in the middle, but not much. Really a solid porter, hope the new owners dont change the recipe. Goodgrief (1152), Middletown, Delaware, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2008 50cl bottle. Pours a deep, dark, opaque black with a thin, dark brown head that is fairly short-lived. The aroma is vinous - combination of roasted and chocolate notes, lots of dark fruits, some sour and acidic fruit notes, and alcohol. The acid in the aroma is interesting - somewhat reminiscent of an Oud Bruin. But the flavor has no sourness or acidity. The flavor does, however, have a very nice level of roast - lots of chocolate, but no burnt flavors. The taste is very smooth - creamy and sweet with caramel malts and dark, bittersweet flavors. The middle of the palate picks up lots of fruity esters. The finish has a very subtle hint of sourness, but mostly bitter, fruity, flowery hop bitterness with sweet and chocolatey malts. The mouthfeel is very creamy and much lighter in body than one would expect. The feel is very dry on the tip of the tongue, but fuller as it washes back. The finish of the beer is slightly drying, but also full and creamy - a very nice paradox. Overall, a very interesting and delicious beer. Given its rich flavors and its strength, I believe that ’Baltic Porter’ is the correct style, not just ’Porter’. dkingsella (91), Portland, Oregon, USA

Thank you to the fellow at Bellmont Station for turning me on to this Porter. The chocolate in the nose hits you immediately. Flavor is chocolate and coffee with subtle brown sugar, licorice and smoky notes. Incredible mouthfeel...smooth and creamy. The hops are very noticeable while remaining balanced with the sweetness from the malt. Very enjoyable porter. I think I’ll cellar a couple of these.
