Coco, milk chocolate. Very nice and very easy to drink. Was great cold and closer to room temp. I guess this could age but was delicious and from a somewhat new batch. I can see why this is RB’s highest rated Porter. shawnm213 (938), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Brewed in Denmark........ Pours dark brown almost black in color with a small beige head. The aroma is of chocolate, dark malts, brown sugar and caramel. Taste of burnt malts, coffee, chocolate and a slight alcohol burn. The mouthfeel is medium in body with a nice lingering dry bitter finish. This was a wonderful suprise !!!! One of the best porters out there. puggy211 (589), cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2009 The beer was opaque black with a moderate amount of dark brown head. In the aroma and flavor there was sweet candy malt, and burnt malts. There was some smoke and coffee in the flavor as well. The beer had a moderately heavy mouthfeel. Damn fine porter... the Dark Horizon of porters! timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Dark brown pour with black and ruby tones. Limited off white head. Smell is a mix of roasted malt, light coffee, chocolate and peat. Flavors are a wonderful mix of these as well. Everything is perfectly balanced malts, peat, dark chocolates and some coffee. Some dark fruits, plum and licorice peak though. Finish real nice and roasty with some coffee and faint hop presence. Mouthfeel is pretty lively yet almost creamy. Does not have some of that alcohol astrigency and "lagery-ness" that many Baltics have. Could put back a bunch of this. It’s not overly anything and not missing anything either. This is the best porter I’ve had, beating out the Founders and Fullers porters. Well deserving of the praise. jesperhammer (304), Copenhagen, Denmark

I really prefer stout, but this one is good. Very bitter, and quite oily.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 6, 2009 22 oz bottle. Nose is rich dark chocolate and nicely roasted malts. Good coffee grind notes as well. Pours a coffee brown with a large dense deep tan head. Flavors are fairly complex deeply roasted to burnt malt and barley. Small coffee notes at times. Smokey at times, almost too much. Mouth is full. There is a small amount of alcohol presence at times. Finishes long and sticky. A great malt complex in this brew.
