obguthr (707), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Apr 23, 2008 Strongly vinous aroma that approaches rubber cement. Yellow color, thinnish, very slight carbonation. Fairly nice balance of honey, grape, black cherry, and wheat. Sweet, not cloying, decent complexity, just enough carbonation. Walt (2287), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 19, 2008 Pour is clear and light yellow like a chardonnay...smell is sweet and light and faintly floral but not so super sweet...slightly alcoholic...thin mouthfeel...fairly swet but tons of pear and green apples...much more winelike... bdigi66 (459), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottle: Pours very pale yellow, almost bordering on no color at all. Not much honey in the nose, though their seems to be a tiny bit that comes through as it warms...it’s pretty much floral and white grapes that are dominant with a subtle green apple note. Unfortunately this is a bit too thin in body to really make an impact but it’s still a pretty quaffable drink. Flavors of light honey and flowers abound and it finishes more on the sweeter side. Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2007 This pours a clear, pale yellow body, a bit thinner than most meads that I’ve had. It has a dry white wine aroma with touches of honey, alcohol, and, unfortunately, Band-Aids. The latter isn’t in the flavor. It’s a straightforward dry mead with a touch of vanilla. As the drink warms, green grapes are added to both flavor and aroma. It finishes dry with a low alcohol burn. Thanks to my gracious hosts, BrideofFrankenkity and frankenkitty.
