Poured a deeper brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, lighter roastiness, and oatmeal. Tastes of the same chocolate, roastiness, and oatmeal. A tad on the thinner side (but somewhat expected for the ABV - and it is a ’breakfast’ stout!). CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2009 On tap, @ Wharf Rat. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, body with a creamy one finger nitro brown head. Pretty roasty and chocolaty with a good amount of oats coming out. A little bit of licorice as well. The flavor has lots of oats too, quite smooth with a nice roastiness and a slight sweetness up front. The finish has just a hint of bitterness. Pretty smooth mouthfeel, but there’s a bit of fizzy carbonation there that makes me thing there’s a bit more CO2 in the mix than usual. Nice lingering finish. Decent, but probably hurt a bit by the nitro.
