(nitro) Creamy, lingering beige head atop an opaque black body. Aroma is roast, coffee, light smoke. Taste is medium sweet, roast, coffee. Creamy light-medium body. Not a bad beer by any stretch, but nothing noteworthy either.

On tap at KSBF ’09. Poured a deeper brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, lighter roastiness, and oatmeal. Tastes of the same chocolate, roastiness, and oatmeal. A tad on the thinner side (but somewhat expected for the ABV - and it is a ’breakfast’ stout!).

On nitro tap at the brewpub on 9/9/09: Pours an opaque black with some creamy dense nitro beige head. Aroma of lightly sweet dark caramel and chocolate notes with a touch of dark fruits. Starts with good fullness and an earthy dark malty sweetness with good roasty bittersweet balance before a smooth creamy finish. A nice stout.

Draft at Wharf Rat on Pratt. Black body with a small tan head. Nose is roasty and sweet with burnt oatmeal notes, light coffee, and some dark chocolate. Feels smooth and creamy with burnt oatmeal, roasted malts, choco notes and light coffee on the tongue. Finishes with more roasty notes, dark chocolate and coffee.

Black with a tan/grey head. 100% foam on the pour - had to wait for the barkeep to combine two glasses. Mellow, nut-roast aroma. Head is like tan wall patch plaster. Coffee, nuts, dry, smooth. Foam is a bit metallic. Medium finish with a roasty character. Medium body. Very drinkable, very good.

On tap, @ Wharf Rat. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, body with a creamy one finger nitro brown head. Pretty roasty and chocolaty with a good amount of oats coming out. A little bit of licorice as well. The flavor has lots of oats too, quite smooth with a nice roastiness and a slight sweetness up front. The finish has just a hint of bitterness. Pretty smooth mouthfeel, but there’s a bit of fizzy carbonation there that makes me thing there’s a bit more CO2 in the mix than usual. Nice lingering finish. Decent, but probably hurt a bit by the nitro.
