hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2009 On tap at the KSBF ’09. Poured a medium amberish color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of citrus, and caramel. Tastes of the same citrus, caramel, and some grainiess. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 4, 2009 On tap at the brewpub on 9/9/09: Transparent amber copper with a clingy-lacing white head. Has a lightly pale malty sweet nose with a hint of piny hops. Starts with decent fullness with a touch of grainy malty sweetness and some slightly resiny grassy hops before a bittersweet drier finish. An ok English pale ale. ben4321 (952), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 10, 2009 Location: On tap at the Pratt Street Ale House, 9/6/09
Aroma: Mix of citrus hops and butterscotch, fairly mild, but nice
Appearance: Clear orange-golden color, minimal head, minimal lace
Flavor: Pretty nice balanced EPA, flavors similar to nose, hops more prevalent in finish
Palate: Medium body, crisp, and has a nice fizzy mouthfeel 3/4
Overall Impression:
I found this to be a pretty solid EPA, a nice beer, well balanced, as the English style tends to be. It could have used a bit more power in the nose, but in the end a very nice beer.
TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 9, 2009 On Tap at the General Sutter Inn. Caramel gold pour with small head. Clear malt and mild hops. Some light citrus notes, bread and grains. Slight dry finish. boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Aug 16, 2009 Draught @ Pratt Street: This one poured an almost clear amber color. Mine had pretty much no head on it. There was very little lacing also. The aroma is lighter, but still good. Some malts and citrus to the nose. The taste is malty and somewhat bitter. This is a pretty decent beer. It is right around the corner from Camden Yards if you are ever at an Oriole’s game. Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2009 Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a slightly hazed orange-amber color with a medium and fluffy white head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Medium, smooth body with flavors of hops, citrus and some bready malt. The finish is malty up front with a lightly bitter hops aftertaste. Decent overall. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Jun 8, 2009 Decent pale ale. Aroma is hoppy. Flavor is hoppy. Good clean finish.
