Cask @ DuClaw RAF 09, several samples, my fave at the fest. Thin creamy tan head, i do beleive this brew was the best carbontaed brew at the fest. Soft and spritely, silky on the palte with some woody prickleyness. Lightly hazy brown in color. Lots of lumber in the nose, gently fruity with notes of vanilla and caramel malts. Lucious wood flavors, vanilla and earthy flavors, leafy with a soft maltiness. Just a really nice brew, highly quaffable which is what i did.

Growler (from cask). Dark brown, thin tan creamy head. Bold oak aromas warm to soft swirls of toasty vanilla, toffee, and hints of earthed citrus. Roasted brown toffee malt and vanilla wood flavors balance well on back end earthy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied, cask-like carbonation, dry wooden bittersweet finish. Great expansion on an already solid base beer. Should be considered for draft status more often...
