Commercial Description:
Barrel aged for 4 years, this semi-sweet honey wine was cold infused with lavender. It is truely "Nectar of the Gods" with a delicate lavender bouquet & finish.

Bottle, shared by mj. Pours a clear gold body, nice legs develop with a decent swirl. The nose leans more to the lavender than the mead, which I thought was quite nice, It really smells like fresh picked lavender. Minimal notes of alcohol. Tastes very much like the lavender tea that my wife makes, with a dash of honey. Minimal alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is actually pretty light compared to what I was expecting, just a light sugary finish with a lingering pollen quality. Overall, this was pretty nice, quite unusual. Not having alot of experience with meads, this was a nice one to start off with.

Bottle, courtesy of mj. Thanks, Mike! Pours a clear, honey-golden color; nice legs. Generous lavender and vanilla and floral notes in the aroma; syrupy, minimal alcohol. Full mouthfeel: soft, mouthcoating lavender and honey; dense viscosity with well-hidden alcohol; floral notes and soft doughy vanilla in the finish; ends cleanly without much residual sugar.

Very light gold colour. Aroma is rich with honey and lavender. Sharp alcohol, loads of wood and a sweet lavender kick fill out the flavour profile. The finish is a bit dry, in a tannic, alcoholic sort of way. Simple drink, but fun.

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Pours a clear golden with a vague, reddish glow. Incredibly delicate nose with the lavendar really shining through. Rather vinous body in which the alcohol is scaringly well hidden. Spicy with a subdued sweetness making this very easy to drink. Closer to wine than mead, and quite unlike any other mead I’ve tried. Tasted at the Oklahoma Beer tasting March 06 hosted by mjames and lilannie. 240306

Ideal coloring. Almost a flat reisling appearance. Nose is in full bloom, wildflower honey, lavander, also notes of black pepper, honey suckle, orange blossom. Thin watery palate, very desirable. Complex flavour of honey, cracked pepper. Wonderful boquet on the tounge.

Aroma: honey, lavender, white grapes, sugar, alcohol, and an earthiness
Appearance: light yellow
Flavor: light honey, some grapes, spices--pepper?, lavendar, alcohol, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spices
Palate: smooth, slight alcohol bite
Overall: very tasty--thought it was tastier at the winery when we picked it up in July, but it is still very good

Still a novice in the world of meads, but this one I found pleasing and less solventy/plastic than many others I’ve tried. Straw colored and still. Lavender flowers are huge in this one. Some solventy and turpentine notes, but not enough to repulse. Flavor seems less floral than the nose, more honey-sweet. Slick and light-bodied, almost a watery palate. Hot in the finish, drying.

Mild, sweet floral and musty honey aroma. Clear, winelike, pale appearance with nice legs on the glass. Strong alcohol flavour with floral, musty honey and a light, herbal spiciness. Medium body is quite dry. Bottle sampled at DenverLogan’s GABF 2005 wrap-up.
