BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Mar 18, 2009 I thought this stuff was great. I had it in the bottle. It poured a dark amber, with a fluffy head. It had classic fruityness of a belgian, and was an overall great beer. Cheers! popkow (107), New York, New York, USA Mar 16, 2009 Popped the cork on the 750ml bottle. Pours a hazy brown/amber and tops off with a abundance of head. Sweet aromas of spice finished with malt. Flavors of raisen in the sun in a pool of malt. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 15, 2009 Thanks to my buddy Joe for the bomber. Pours a dark brown with a thick creamy tan head. Fruity apple, malty, Belgian yeast aroma. Smooth crisp malt taste with some hints of fruit, Belgian spice and yeast. Very good version of the style. edmajorjoe (79), Vail, Arizona, USA Mar 15, 2009 this abbey is sweet to smell and adequate on taste. it looks murky on its pour with a dark amber tint. it has a long lasting head on pour with a fruitastic aroma. tmoreau (527), Lombard, Illinois, USA Mar 13, 2009 Bottle to Czech pils glass. Poured a clear, walnut color with ruby tones. The head was light tan, thick and foamy, with some good, clingy lacing. The aroma was malt with some ripe apple and spice notes. The flavor added to these some caramel, a tangy cider taste, and a touch of subtle dryness. A fine Dubbel. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Mar 11, 2009 750ml corked and caged. Pours a hazy dark amber orange with a moderate sized tan head. Aromas of dark fruits, raisins, dates, plums, some spice, and some caramel malts. Flavors of sweet malts up front, with more of the dark fruits, and caramel. Slight spice and a semi-bitter finish. Palate is medium bodied. savnac (394), Palmer, Alaska, USA Mar 11, 2009 Aroma is sweet like molasses, with a slight fruitiness. Reddish brown with big light tan creamy head. Starts off sweet and ends with a bit of a sour aftertaste. Medium to heavy bodied, thick and average carbonation. foosnbrews (33), Parker, Colorado, USA Mar 8, 2009 Beer poors dark with a nice off-white head. Belgian esters are apparent in aroma with a definate alchol presence. Flavor is complex with hints of light burnt sugar, fig, and raisin. Palate is a bit thin but nothing that detracts too heavily from the beer. Overall beer is nice, but not my first choice when purchasing in the style
