Commercial Description:
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Dark body with a moderate diminishing head. Strong, attractive aroma with a fruity sweetness and a hint of malt. Smells like candy almost. The nose is deceptively thin with a lot of carbonation, but the flavor comes out after that. Lots of malt on the flavor, although its not my favorite malt profile. There are just enough notes of various fruits to make this a rather complex brew; you get a different flavor on each swig. This is a great beer, although I think they could tone the carbonation down a bit so that the nose is not dominated so much by fizz. Otherwise, this is a near perfect beer.

Absolutely delicious. Very large tan head, pours hazy brown. Unique aroma, dark and fruity, like licorice and chocolate. Dark fruit flavor comes out in the taste, with a noticeable edge of hops. The alcohol blends in well also, but it’s noticeable. Great dubbel, one of the best I’ve tried.

really, really enjoyed this beer. I have considered chimay rouge my go to beer if I want a tasty beer that is also easy drinking. This is my new standard for a dubbel. I has a much richer colour than the chimay. I has more of a fruitiness both on the nose and the palate.. Carbonation is quite minimal which gives it a nice mouthfeel. I could drink this ofter. Very good beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours crimson with a nice tan head. Aromas of dark fruit and tart apple and banana. Flavors are bready, yeasty, with elements of dark fruit and hops. Nice flavor, a little weak on the palate, but pretty good stuff.

Pours amber brown with a tan colored head. Big malty aroma with some yeasty notes as well. Very malty and delicious. A fine dubbel.

12 oz. bottle: pours heady with good lacing and a nice light brown color, aroma is of roasted malts and some caramel, flavor is much lighter than an actual Belgian brewed Abbey ale, good clean beer though brewed for "American tastes"

Bottle. Berries, nuts with a slight smoked aroma. Mahogany in colour with a decent off white head. Fruity, red berry flavour. A little spicy with liquorice. Very tasty ale. Bitter and strong liquorice finish. Lovely tasty ale.

12 oz bottle from premier gourmet. pours hazy dark amber with a lovely tan head that is thick and luxurious throughout your drinking experience. the aroma is of dark fruit, pale malts and belgian yeast (loses one point for noticeable alcohol). caramelized rum soaked raisons. the flavours are similar but they are accompanied by a soft comforting mouthfeel that in my mind is perfect for a dubble. my bottle was fresh but a little age on this would make it almost impossible to beat. very good brew that i wish i could purchase regularily.
