Commercial Description:
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Bottle. Picked this up in Asheville, NC. Smell was fruity. Taste was that of a good traditional Belgian ale, but not great. Unibroue Trois Pistoles was much better. It’s worth a try though.

Poured an attractive dark burgundy color with a pillowy white head that hung around a while. Aroma is quite fruity and sweet with a touch of chocolate. Flavor is very much the same as the aroma with the taste of dark fruits and a nice dry finish. Nice beer that I would definitely explore again.

Bottle, 75cl (parts of the label carefully masked for some reason). Fruity, vinous aroma. Taste is dark fruits with notes of yeast.

It’s very beautiful, dark, red mahogany with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness, dark fruits, spice, yeast and alcohol. The flavour is just like the aroma complex and vinous; sweetness, malt, caramel, dark fruits, raisin and figs dominate, alcohol, spice and hints of licorice.

Has a nice Belgian sour aroma. Nice dark copper appearance. Very malty flavor, backed up with some leather and sour notes. A good beer overall.

Aroma: yummy, wort, julmust, soy, rowan, caramel, some hops, cocoa butter, roasted, sourish, funky yeast.
Flavour: nice, caramel, berryish sweetness, slightly burnt aftertaste, roasted barley, sourish yeast, very peculiar and VERY Belgian.
Appearance: red, murcky brown with yellowish, creamy head. Very special appearance indeed.
Palate: fluffy, soft, lathery.
