Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Fruity, firm dubbel, reminiscent of bananas dipped in chocolate, with a dry, yeasty finish.

Hazy brown-amber color. Nice malt aroma. Good body, well structured, quite sweet in the front and correctly balanced later; caramel and liquorice.

Hazy dark amber with tiny head. Sweet fruity aroma with yeast, caramel and light roasted malt notes. Sweet yeasty flavor with roasted malt, caramel and overripe fruits. Ends rather sweet.

Solid American version of a Belgian. Sweet, fruity & caramelly malty aroma, and yummy sweet fruity caramel chocolate flavor. Dry finish, though slightly astringent. Quite a delight.

From the Bottle at Indulgences Etc, Denver 23/09/2009 Some spiced aroma. Amber coloured strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate and malty. A little bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Muddy brown color, small beige head. Chocolaty and a bit fruity, propably some notes of oxidation. First impression: anise ... then some licorice, caramel backed with malts. Short finish, alcohol is very well hidden. Very interesting, something similar to Gouden Carolus Christmas. Fabulously balanced.

It’s very beautiful, dark, red mahogany with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness, dark fruits, spice, yeast and alcohol. The flavour is just like the aroma complex and vinous; sweetness, malt, caramel, dark fruits, raisin and figs dominate, alcohol, spice and hints of licorice.
