Dark brown, chestnut color, pretty. Fruity nose with some licorice and breadyness too. Med/full body. co2 dances on the tongue. Full somewhat slick mouthfeel. Chocolate, fruity(banannas) and dark roasted grains combine pleasently, leading to a dry groovily lingering finish. Odeed (1680), Bakersfield, California, USA

5 minutes later its still got a bit to much acidic bite for me.maybe even a bit of lemons?im not saying its bad,but i like my b.s.a.’s a little more balanced. douglas88 (1679), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Pours a cloudy dark brown with a thick beige head. The aroma was fruit, alcohol, metallic and yeast notes. The taste was dominated by a nice fruity body with a surprisingly bitter aspect. There is a ton of yeast and some toffee, malts. Quite good, a brewery I really enjoy. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA

Huge aromas of raisins, figs, plumbs and a spicy character that is near perfect. The first sip and I had a few thoughts of what I could taste and that was caramel, some toffe, said dark fruits and some yeast. Wonderful brew that I will buy again and again as long as it’s this high of quality. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Upfront taste is sweet and settles into a very wine-like sour taste that I’m not a big fan of. Not nearly as well balanced as other strong ales, but nice to try. Marsiblursi (1659), Göteborg, Sweden

(Bottle) Pours a light hazy dark reddish brown colour with and off white to light brown head. The aroma is fantastic and fat with clear tones of, malt, caramel, toffee, sugar, honey, doughy yeast, dark fruits like resins, figs and plums, lighter fruits like apples, sweet oranges and pineapples. Sweet but also a bit sourish. In addition, some berry notes of grapes and cherries. Undertones of tobacco and liquorice. The nose is more like an English BW than a Belgian strong. The flavour is sweet malty, sugary and dark fruity but also a bit tart and sourish. Vinous tart with grape sand cherries. The caramel and toffee tones are more laidback in the flavour. Finish is dry and spicy with a touch of chocolate/cocoa and anise. The mouthfeel is quite rich, warming, round and creamy with a champagne carbonation that dies out pretty fast. Light bitter. The sourish orange notes plays well with the sweetness and make the beer less cloying. Medium to full bodied. This is a very special example of the style and in my book a better example than many of the beer in the same category. kiefdog (1647), Tampa, Florida, USA
