Musty, yet weak aroma is dominated by ripened fruit. Robust, complex flavor: licorice, plum, beet sugar. Alcohol is prevalent, especially in the finish. Carbonation is a tad too high for my tastes, but it it still a quite enjoyable brew. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA

Not bad - very different. A somewhat sour finish was present in my beer. Darkover (1312), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2004 Quite attractice reddish brown in color with a red twinged beige head that is dissipating. Aroma is pleasent also, with tons of fruit notes and candy sugar. The flavor is nice and complex and multi-layered. Flavor is initially sweet with good yeast then finishes very dry with a final burst of fruit. Yummy!! zathrus13 (1298), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2004 I bought this bottle in July 2001, and have cellered it until now. Pours a cloudy brown, looks like apple cider.
The aroma is fruit, alcohol, and some raisins. Taste is also fruit and raisins, only slightly sweet. It has the impression of being old. It seems like it might be past its prime. I’ll have to buy a freah bottle and rerate. NoiZe (1294), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Roasted malt lend way to raisins or prune-like flavors. Alcohol was hardly present in the flavors making it very easy to drink. Hops are subtle but create a warming balance.
