| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2004 Quite attractice reddish brown in color with a red twinged beige head that is dissipating. Aroma is pleasent also, with tons of fruit notes and candy sugar. The flavor is nice and complex and multi-layered. Flavor is initially sweet with good yeast then finishes very dry with a final burst of fruit. Yummy!! golubj (1300), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Cask of dry-hopped version at the Blind Tiger. The aroma was fruit, clove, belgian malt, and pine. The flavor was similar with the belgian malt taking a back seat to the fruit, clove and pine hop finish. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one because I disliked the Urthel hopped belgian, but this was really quite good. Great mouthfeel on cask, and the typical yeast found in belgians wasn’t really there (which was probably a good thing). GRM (1291), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2007 From a 750mL Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, brilliant sunset ruddy fire with a tall layer of frothy off-white head. Big, fruity aroma with some notes of raspberry licorice, toffee, and sherried green raisins. Marachino cherry, caramel, and a subtle touch of clove spice. Not too much phenolic spice in the nose; the fruity dimensions are the clear focal point. Medium bodied, heavily carbonated texture that lightens up the palate weight enough to make it remarkably easy to drink. Huge flavors, however. Rustic, well toasted pumpernickel bread crust, mild chocolate licorice, and prune flesh create an intense flavor layer. Behind the dark malts, some spicy yeast chracters follow closely. A little bit of plum and dark toffee linger into the final smack, before finishing cleanly with a smidgen of minty herbal hops.
