Commercial Description:
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Dark brown with reddish tint with a thick head. Very inviting maly and fruits aroma. Ommegangs description is right on the money "layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee)". I has an aftertaste of raisins. A very good beer and a bargan at $4.99

Dark Black Coloring. Tan Head. Fruity - Black Cherry. Malt, Roasts. Bitter. A Little Creamy. Light and Tangy... Alcohol Well Hidden. An Excellent Beer! Worth Keeping in Stock and Aging.

Big ole head on this one, with good lacing. Deep red color. Malty, fruity, yeasty nose. Fruity, especially cherry, somewhat sweet taste (although it was not cloying). Tart, sweet finish. Pleasant, dry aftertaste. More complex than your average brew.

Bottle. Large fizzy tan head that was mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, lacing was sparse, cloudy, carbonation, and a brown hue. Nose was malty, caramel, sweet, and alcohol. Flavor was sweet, malty, caramel, vinuous, and somewhat dry. Mouthfeel was dry, tingly and vinuous. Medium-full body. An outstanding BSA, very enjoyable and quaffable and the alcohol was not overdone IMO. Scrumptious! If you like this beer style, find it, buy it and enjoy every taste of it!

Color is a hazy, brown with red tones and a small tannish head with some lacing around the edge that just wouldn't quit. Smells fantastic with lots of fruit and malt tones, mostly citrus with some melon, grape, raisin, and fig all dancing around with a super sweet malt in the nose thats soft and subtle. Taste is pretty much in your face with a whole lotta of malt thats sweet and lends into the the tropical feel and taste of melon and some citrusy bitterness and vanilla. Feel is medium bodied, silky smooth with a huge bitterness in the end that really soured to much for me. It started nice, but I think perhaps a little more aging would calm the bittery end down some. Not bad at all, pretty drinkable, is darn good and sip worthy as it warms.

How do I love thee...let me count the ways! #1 - Banana, raisins, caramel malt, yeast, grass #2 - Reddish brown slighty hazy with lots of bubbles. Head is thick and creamy and built to last. Lacing is building nicely on the side of the glass. #3 - Fruity and a touch buttery, spicy. Hint of alcohol. Lightly sweet with mild hop finish. Doughy. Nutty. Banana bread in a bottle. #4 - Nicely carbonated. Medium body. Every section of the tongue hit with something and no too much of anything. #5 - Could drink every day of the year. An absolutely favorite brew!

A great take on the belgian style. On the sweet side with a lot of malt and some yeast. Sugar yes, adding to teh creamy mouthfeel.Apricots? Dates? Delightful accompanyment throughout the meal and after. One of the few beers I MUST have again over many other very good ones. Brown color and beautiful bubbly head

Deep reddish brown color, frangrant aroma. One of my favorites and I drink this very often. The spices and the sweetness of the beer blends very well and leaves a wonderful aftertaste and mouth-feel.
