Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured into a large snifter. Fruit arouma and a beautiful reddish brown body with a dark tan head. Very complex flavors. The carmel malts seem to dominate and like others have said its a bit to sweet. A little more hop would be good. Not quite in leaque with Rochfort , but not far off either.

May 19, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color with a nice amount of head. The aroma was sweet caramel malts with a tiny bit of spice. The flavor was smooth and malty with just a bit of bitterness and tartness. Overall, this was an excellent beer from on of my favorite breweries.

Jan 5, 2008 Great beer. Tastes much like the Chimay’s, but substantially less expensive. Good color, aroma, head and finish. I really like this beer....it also packs a pretty good punch!

Apr 9, 2008 beer pours a reddish mahogany with visible carbonation, a beautiful frothy head and nice lacing. aroma of figs, raisins, prunes, malt, traces of alcohol- very smooth upon first sniff. gorgeous flavor- nice mouthfeel, tastes similar to aroma, absolutely delicious. my favorite style, and i really love this beer.

Mar 20, 2008 I have enjoyed this beer a few times in the past. Sweetness is nice and not overpowering. It pours a dark amber color with a nice head. This beer would be perfect after visiting the Hall of Fame!

Apr 26, 2009 Ruddy brown and almost opaque with compact beige head. Malty complex aroma with notes of raspberry. Malt dominates with dark fruit and berry, along with bit of pepper in finish.

Oct 23, 2009 Pours Ruby with a thick tan head with tight compacted bubbles. Fruit aroma with a thick rich complex taste of raisins and ripe plum. The alcohol radiates after each sip. Excellent lacing on the glass. Nice filling finish.
