Commercial Description:
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

sweet aroma, fresh floral and fruity, brown red color with a gigantic head, the first pour produced about 1/8th of a glass’ worth of beer, the rest was all head, so for the next pour I went as slowly as possible, I got about 1/3rd of the glass full with beer before the head flowed over, strangely enough the brew didnt seem overly carbonated in the palate, sweet flavor that is rich with ester notes, hints of raison and spices, slightly smokey and a wee bit chocolately, the alcohol is well masked and tends to sneak up, this brew must have a fake passport or something because I could swear it was from Belgium.

A truly great beer. Dark red with a huge fluffy white head that slowy vanished to a decent size. Aroma was mainly of apples, which I enjoy. Sweet fruits were the first thing I tasted, but that gave way to a dry, alcohol finish. Really a nice treat.

Bottled. Deep brown coloring with a moderate off-white head. I got a lot of toffee and chocolate in the flavor with a big hop kick that warms and dries as it goes down. Very good.

Pours dark red color. Aroma is fruity, with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is that of fruit, a little roasted nuts. Very good beer, and the bottle is nice.

Very fruity, malty aroma, cherry, spices. Nice head that is decently lasting, nice ruby coloration. Nice complex fruits, pretty smooth, pretty good.

Dark burgundy with a very short-lived fizzy tan head. The aroma is very sweet at first, caramel and chocolate, then some toffee. The flavor is a nice caramel and toffe combo. There is some dark fruit action going on also, plums maybe. The finish is dry and lively. The body is medium full. I really like this beer. I started drinking this stuff eons ago and have just now gotten around to rating it. I think that I enjoy it more now than I used to. Yum.

Beautiful ale. Deep russet brown with some red. Aroma is very sweet--dried cherries with yeast. Nice malt profile with anise elements. Finishes tart in the back of my throat. Seems like it would be even better cellared.

A great Belgian ale. Sweet and rich without being excessively fruity. Nice thick head with a honey like arouma. Definantly a must try.
