The head was not quite one-finger tall and the bubbles were fizzy. Minimal lacing. The aroma was raisins, alcohol, apples and some spice. The flavor reminded me of ginger ale. There was some apple and alcohol as well. A bit of yeast. Thin to medium in body. Lots of carbonation.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2009 From Bottle. Nose is sweet and fruity, with notes of brown sugar and dark fruits (cherries perhaps?) that culminate to form a very complex aroma. Appearance is not quite a red shade of burgundy with a very fluffy and fragrant off-white head. Taste has a lot of the aromas described above, with some honey. Slight carbonation with thick, full mouthfeel. Reminds me very much of most the barley wines I’ve had. Really quite delicious. Dough77 (776), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2009 A little sweet but candi sugary goodness mixed with some heavy hitting darker fruits, raisins, prune, and the likes. Alcohol definitly present but in mostly nice way. Could drink a couple of these if they made their way to my cellar. joeneugs (330), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Pours red/brown with a reddish tan head. The aroma is yeasty with over ripe fruit basket. Mostly apple, pear, plum and banana. Mild spiciness in there too. The flavor is surprisingly well balanced and thick with fruit flavors. Grapes, berries, honey, caramel, and a wonderfully complex spice character. It finishes yeasty and a little bitter. Very enjoyable. Noticeably high alcohol content, but not in a bad way. demsoc (18), Pennsylvania, USA

Some spiced aroma. Amber coloured strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate and malty. A little bitterness in a crisp malt finish.
