Commercial Description:
Ommegang Biere de Mars is a fine Belgian-style amber ale with a bit of magical space dust woven in: Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, a wild yeast which imparts added tartness, extra zing, and a touch of funk - while dry hopping enhances the hop aroma.

Bottle from SL. Pour was full amber-orange with some haze, large generous head, good lacing all the way down. The aroma was fruity (apples at the fore?), some funk. The flavor followed, apples, other fruits, some funk, but some astringency to this, not nearly as clean as I’d have expected, and there was an acidity to this that wasn’t pleasing. Another recent Ommegang release that didn’t live up to my hopes, way many other BdG/BdM brews superior out there.

A hazy brown with a huge fluffy off-white head that sticks around. The aroma is yeast, spice, and bready maltiness with some light fruit. The flavor is somewhat subdued, but mostly bready malt and belgian yeast flavor stick out. A little tart. Not a bad beer, but not spectacular. Refreshing.

Bottle pours hazy dark orange with off white thick pillowy head. Aroma is brett with some sweet fruit. These are pretty subtle. Mouthfeel has a lot of carbonation. This is almost champagne like. Flavor is focuses on the brett flavors. Barn, hay, musk, just good ole funk. Finishes very crisp and dry. Everything about the flavor is very subtle. And very smooth. This is a nice brew.

the red planet .. . Pleasing aromas, from wet hay, honey, brett, light funk, and all that jazz .. . clean and crisp, fun yet reformed, pure and enjoyable .. clean as a1 whistle in the mouth, leaves just a touch of Brett, wonderful stuff! .. . lets fire up those stompers and make some dirty.. . . great spritz, a nice touch of bitterness, a bit of sweetness... well balanced!! .. . Way to easy to drink, light musk in the back of the throat every now and again .. . ’she does not have a phone, or a cellphone or a ..telegram ....’ .. . A beginner brew for those who are getting into Brett, but still refined enough for the connoisseur !! And for you food pair monkeys, this is a Great beer to go with some backyard bbq!! trust me!! e-mail me and thank me when you do!! A great brew!!

..I wish I could play little league now, I’d kick some fuckin’ ass.

Yeasty. Not incredibly funky. Tart. Bit of apple. Brett just comes through. Very refreshing on this summer day.

22 oz Bottle from 99 Bottles in Auburn WA. I found the whole experience to be extremely pleasant. My favorite beer so far this year. All of the flavors and aromas are subtle but slightly different then anything i have tried to before.

22oz bottle. An impressive beer from a brewery I usually don’t like. This is a very good Fantomish beer. Nose is tart citrus, lemon and mango with some grass and hay aroma. Huge puffy head that settles into a long lasting film. Citric acid flavor up front. Moderate acidity and tartnes. Not really sour but its funky as hell. Caramel and bread notes with a slightly grassy hop finish. This is complex and interesting. Nice offering.

Pours dark golden to orange with a mostly receding off-white head. Aroma of tart fruit, citrus and apple, lactic acid and funk. Taste is moderately funky from the brett, not sour, well balanced with mango and herbal hop notes. Medium bodied with light acidity and lively carbonation.
