| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2009 Mildly and oddly (that’s the style) spicey Belgian with a barnyard nose. Very pleasant body with soapy white head. The taste is more than decent and the beer is drinkable over a meal, but I would not seek it out again. OK for the style. Above average mouthfeel, though lightly acidic. Syd (903), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2009 750 pours hazed orange amber with a short lived, but large head. The aroma is pear, slight barn, yeast, and hops. The flavor is really rather mild, must need more time to get interesting... Rather malty, with not a lot dancing around it. Perhaps I was expecting too much from this, but I am trying to be fair. I’m not seeing much in this other than a Belgian Ale with some spice. Not much in the Brett department. Meh. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 6, 2009 750mL Bottle. Batch #2, October 2008. Soft, sweet pineapple and coconut nose over a lick of candied apple and a bit of caramel. Simple and deep. Pours a reddish-amber-orange, with a hint of haze and a rim in off-white. Flavor is robust, but some how singular. This has got to be one of the cleanest Brett flavors I’ve known. A really solid, but simple brown sugar, moderately carameled malt laid over a perfume of cottony tropical fruits, edging papaya. This is a fantastic drinker. It’s straightforward, dry, and solid. I’m impressed with how well the depth of the malt works with the Brett. Very nice and something I wish I could drink regularly. Continued good work with Brett from Ommegang. Flavor is spicy with bready caramel and sugar sweetness. Light body with medium somewhat creamy mouth feel. Finish is dry and spicy. l1br4r14n (286), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2009 Batch #3, bottled Nov. 2008. Aroma of yeast, orange citrus, and hops. Pours a murky amber with a small off-white head. Flavor is zesty! Flavors of orange citrus, corriander, bell pepper, and hops; tartness comes through in the finish. Carbonation gets in the way of really enjoying the flavors. Tasty. Theis (3760), Denmark
