Commercial Description:
Ommegang Biere de Mars is a fine Belgian-style amber ale with a bit of magical space dust woven in: Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, a wild yeast which imparts added tartness, extra zing, and a touch of funk - while dry hopping enhances the hop aroma.

#21 Bottle. [Papsoe grand American tasting] Small light creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of peach, coriander, mild spice, caramel, mild toasted malt. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor. Lingering malty and almost liquorish like finish. 7 / 2 / 7 / 3 / 14 = 3.3

From bottle, Papsoes blindtasting #21. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Dry wheaty, light brettish and mild fruity aroma. Smooth carbonation mouthfeel. Light coriander flavoured with a mild yeasty, light peppery and brett-ish mild flavour. Medium dry and mild wheaty like malt flavoured finish.

Sampled at a tasting. Aroma is very different. It is sweet and sour with notes sweet fruit, maybe white grades coming out. The flavor was sour and different. Malts and grapes really stand out in the tart finish. I may have to try this again.

Bottle, Armanetti’s on Lincoln. Pours a lightish amber with offwhite head. Nose is a touch funky and sweet, fruity. Spicy as well, actually pretty bold for a BdG. Taste is nice and sweet with a tart kick. Lots of grainy malts coming through. A nice beer to sit on the back porch with. Good.

Bottle (750ml) -- courtesy of rudolf. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a large lasting fluffy off-white head -- looking good. Nice, yet mild aroma is floral, herbal, yeasty and spicy along with some citrus, funk and more. Tasty and refreshing flavour is sweet and spicy along with some light yeasty funk, citrus tartness and a light earthy bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Very good, it really hits the spot and like I said before, is quite refreshing.

On tap @ Deluxe. Poured a nice copper color with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was quite muted, some simple malts detectable. Passed it around the table and all had the same reaction, just very little flavor. History on this beer says otherwise, so maybe a bad pour.

bottle corked and caged poured a yellow amber color with a frothy two finger off white head that retained rather well. aroma has belgian yeast, nutmeg, light floral hops, faint fruit, and some hay. mouth feel is light with crisp carbonation. flavor has a little more funk. hay, brett, lightly spiced, interesting hops, and some fruit. light and refreshing but lots of layered flavors. finishes with bitter tartness and some tasty yeast.
