amber hue with a thick white head that had good retention and some lace. Aroma was of fruit notes and barnyard notes. Fruit notes were a tad acidic, non offensive and not citrus. Flavor seemed to have a good fruit tartness to it a good yeasty note to it. Finish was good but rather thin. Carbonation was mild.

THIS is interesting. Brett you say? I never would’ve known. Sarcasm aside, wow. Amber pour, thick white head. HUGE brett nose. Flavor is rich and funky: yeasty and tart. Very good. Don’t know that I could drink it often, but it is a good beer. If you like brett.

9/09/2009: Ommegang Biere de Mars... Aroma: Grapes, slight spice, somewhat like a urinal cake. Appearance: Solid looking with plenty with a steady white to off-white head; very minimal carbonation. Flavor: Decent maltiness, adequate fruitiness, reserved spice, alcohol is fairly well-hidden; mild, but noticable creamy yeastiness; weak earthy bitterness; very slight oxidation? Palate: Medium, well-rounded, carbonation pokes through. Overall: Decent, but not really my thing.

The characteristic funky smell of the brett comes through first, barnyard, sweet, sour. The appearance is cloudy orange, thick white head, lots of particulate matter. The flavor is tart fruit, vinegar, lemon, floral hops. The finish is a floral hop bitterness, and a tart lemon flavor, dry. The mouthfeel is relatively thin, fizzy. Unique and enjoyable. This might have been a run of the mill biere de garde, w/o the brett to make it stand out.

Dry-hop aroma, obviously stated on the label. There was a very yeasty appearance, with the influence of our fine fungal friend Brett. The flavor it tart, with some hoppy sweetness. I enjoyed the beer more the first time I had it in June, as opposed to late August, but I’m not sure what variable affected the flavor.

Bottle from Keg Liquor. Poured a clear amber color with a large off-white frothy head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate yeasty, earthy and sweet aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation and thin particles. Medium yeasty sweet & sour flavor with a smooth citrus sweet finish of moderate duration. Sold drinkable brew.

Dark amber pour with a huge off-white head. Sweet aroma, a little fruity and spicy. flavor is the same and a little hoppy at the end.

750ml - Pours a dark amber in color wirh a medium white head that stuck around to produce some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is delightful mix of Belgian yeasts, the Brett and some floral hoppiness. Flavor is definitely tart with bready yeasts, some citrus, some caramel and some hops on the finish. Quite good...
