Commercial Description:
Ommegang Biere de Mars is a fine Belgian-style amber ale with a bit of magical space dust woven in: Brettanomyces Bruxellensis, a wild yeast which imparts added tartness, extra zing, and a touch of funk - while dry hopping enhances the hop aroma.

The pure was like a unfiltered honey with a small white head. The aroma was citrus, with hopps and honey and carmelized orange. The flavor was light on the pallet with a light a summery feel. This would be a great thurst quencher with mild complexity.

slightly blurry orange-copper with yellowish fizzy head. nice sour aroma of grass and lemon peel. there’s also some pineapple and a bit of malt. taste is more mild, with hints of lemon, pine, caramel, and a bit of funk. super dry and somewhat astringent aftertaste, the brett is nice in here. nice medium-thin body and medium carbonation.

Bomber. Orange, copper colored, slightly hazy especially at the bottom of the bottle. Huge head. Funky aroma and flavor, lots of tart citrus, barnyard notes, and a mildly hoppy finish. This was bottled about a year before I drank it, so I’m guessing some of the hop bite had faded. A good beer to have with food.

750 ML enjoyed while at the Outer Banks of NC. Pours amber with a foamy tan head which disappears quickly. Virtually no lacing. Aroma not very strong but has dark fruits and sweet malts. Flavor is mild, on the sweet side, but finishes with a citrus tang. This is a very mild beer, not my favorite from Ommegang, but it’s decent and refreshing.

750ml. Batch #3, Nov 2008. Pours a bright melon color, with a thin white swirl of micro bubbles. Aroma is wheaty and raw, but its smoothed by a balancing sweetness; candy-ish. Flavors are more complex, but I’m really surprised to find no sourness. Where is the brett? This bottle is 6 months old, there is no sourness and exceptionally little funk. If I wasn’t so disappointing with the lack of funk. I would be impressed with a very high quality saison from a truly under-related brewer.

Zing indeed. Funk in the aroma and flavor. Tart and tangy. Dark amber with a huge head no matter how you pour it. Another great beer from Ommegang.

Thanks to Daknole! Fruity aroma with some yeast mixed in. Flavor is also fruity, sweet, and a little bitter. Obviously has some yeast which adds a bit of funk, but not overpowering at all. Very easy to drink, refreshing, and balanced. Well done.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a huge peach-white head. The aroma was yeasty and sweet with notes of orange, cream and vanilla. The flavor was dry, musty and earthy with a sharp rough fruity hop presence and a musty bretty undertone. The finish was long, bretty and roughly fruity. Medium body. Ok.
