Pours a dark mahogany color with a fine tan head. Smell is that of cocoa and coffee. Mouthfeel is very nice with a slight bittering. The Chocolates and coffee are promonant. Sits nice on the tongue. Bitterness on the backside is well balanced. A homerun from Cooperstown!

Aroma is fairly strong and smoky, mainly of roast coffee with hints of chocolate and a whisper of molasses. It pours an opaque sable like dark chocolate with a very thick, fine-bubbled tan head that hangs around for a while. Flavor is just simply superb, smoky and chocolaty with undertones of coffee, caramel and molasses. It is fairly sweet but not cloying, and there is a touch of hop bitterness that balances the sweetness nicely. Texture is smooth and bubbly, and it leaves a slightly sweet mocha aftertaste. Very festive, and a good dessert beer.

bottle by way of mcbackus.

fairly opaque black shade of dark brown with a gigantic wispy light brown head. there is one big ring of foam left behind with icicle-like drips of lace coming off of it. there is some webby and spotty lacing too but they don*t look nearly as cool... it smells like instant hot cocoa powder... chocolate malt powder, some nuttiness, minerals and vanilla. the flavor is kinda meh... mild roasty bitterness (especially on the finish), toasted caramelized nuts, bitter sweet chocolate, light yeast and a touch of coffee. it*s nice and dry just lacking some character and depth. medium body with faint pleasant acidity. medium to high carbonation yet it is slick and airy in the mouth feel. 7/5/6/3/16/3.7

A sticky tan head floated on top of an inky blackness. Alluring aromas of dark chocolate and white cake wafted from the glass. Mouthfeel was rich and velvety, like rabbit fur. Flavors and aromas were wonderfully balanced and complementing. They did not smack you in the face with boldness, but they were nice. Notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, toffee, milk, sugared espresso and doughy yeast swirled together into a profusion of heaven on the tongue. It all seemed to work well together, too. A chocolaty bitterness followed and provided even more balance. What a great Belgian-style stout.

Brown pour with tan head and lce. Chocoffee in a burned kinda way. Roated malt. Chocoffee again burned a very good bitter. Medium to full bodied beer with the carbonation off just a tad. Very nice beer that lacks a little something on the carbonation and not nearly the chocolate that I expected.

Call me picky but when a beer says "Chocolate Indulgence", I expect it to have some earthy chocolate flavor. Smokey to the brim, not good for a stout, especially not good for a sweet stout. Beautiful color but the aroma of hops, caramel, oak, and smoke was as underwhelming as the flavor.

Beautiful black pour with large tan head. Aroma of roast coffee and chocolate. Similar taste with a nice dry finish. Another winner.
