Dark brown. Thick, rich head. Chocolate malt aroma with espresso accents. Medium body. Rich chocolate, some burnt fruit and mild roastiness. Nice dessert beer.

Draft at MacGregors in Rochester. Poured black with a lasting tan head. Aroma is rather light with dark chocolate and roasted malt notes. Medium body. Flavor has alcohol up front, followed by notes of chocolate, grass, roasted malt, and light smoke. Not bad, but I expected much better.

Courtesy of TheCheeseMan, thanks Daniel! Pitch black with a huge, nice, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and filled chocolates. The flavour has sweetness, notes of chocolate, but not nearly as much as I hoped for, light smoke, roasted malt, caramel and very light hints of mint. The finish is slightly dry. The overall impression is a bit weak. It’s not bad as such, but it’s a bit disappointing, because I hoped for much more.

Black, tan head. Smells like milk chocolate - or chocolate milk - and marshmallow and vanilla. Smooth palate, but seems a bit thin, almost a distraction. Flavor is nicely chocolate, but not over done. Hints of a fruity sweet note. Nice beer.

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, roasted malt, and a slight nuttiness. It pours a dark brown with some very faint orange highlights and a large beige-tan head with excellent retention and some nice thin lacing. The flavor starts with some watery chocolate and roasted malt. It finishes with moderate sweet fruit and yeastiness along with some metallic notes, nuts, and a hint of alcohol. The flavors just don’t seem to mesh well and the metallic flavor really throws things out of whack for me. Light-medium bodied with minimal soft carbonation leaves it feeling somewhat thin and watery at times.

A very nice Stout! Pours with a good big head, with roasted malt aromas. The flavor is suprisingly not very sweet, which was a plesant suprise. Lots of dark chocolate, and dark roasted malt flavors. There is a strange musty/sweat flavor in there that does not balance well with the rest of the flavors. But overall this is a beautiful beer.

Pours a beautiful rich black color with big frothy tannish head. Aroma is very metallic as it appears the yeast gives off an iron aroma. This is intermixed with light notes of chocolate. Taste is somewhat bland., it’s essentially the metallic yeastiness intermixed with some chocolate. Overall, it’s not bad, but at $10.99 a bottle it should be better.
