Flaske: Chokolade i næsen er første indtryk. Mørk næsten sort øl med et fint skum. Meget chokolade i smagen bakket op af en god del brændthed. Fin øl og tydelig belgisk inspireret.

Pours a dark brown color with a med tan head. The aroma is of mild chocolate, roasted malts, and dark fruit. The taste is much of the same with some coffee notes. The finish is dry, but i like it....... This stout was yummy. :)

#19 Bottle. [Papsoe grand American tasting] Small almost brown fizzy light head. Spare display of lacework. Dark mahogany color. Aroma of mild chocolate, roasted malt, light metallic, hint of smoke and light dried fruity notes. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Light chocolate like finish. 5 / 2 / 5 / 2 / 12 = 2.6

From bottle, Papsoes blindtasting #19. Pours pitch black and with a small tan head. Roasted and burned malt aroma, light metallic and dark chocolate. Light chalky touch. Roasted malty and breadish flavoured, light acidic touch. Vague smoked note. Dark roasted and vague metallic flavoured finish. Smooth chocolate like finish.

Draft: Pour was a dark brown bordering on black with a large tan head. Nose was pretty much nonexistent on this with some very light notes of chocolate and belgian yeast. Nice body and carbonation...flavor starts lightly sweet and chocolaty leading to a dry bready finish. Decent.

Pours a dark brown, nice tan head with some decent staying power and lacing. Tastes a lot like an Young’s DC.

April 2009 Nice beer, but Youngs DC still wins out in terms of this style for me. Pours dark with nice beige head. Body is silky with big dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavours. Not bad.
