CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 26, 2009 BXL East: tap: fairly hazy, light copper... light and dry head. Suprisingly fruity, relatively bright actually.... summer fruits, citrus, banana, apricot... nice spicy tones as well. Middle is solid wheat, yeasts... high carbonation makes this beer light. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009 Tap at BXL Cafe East: Poura a hazy deep orange with a dense white head. Nice bright & dry aroma with notes of coriander and grains of paradise- as well as some peppery phenolics. Light fluffy body- some sweet Belgian pale malt character in the flavor with mild fruity esters. A touch of bubblegum and somewhat minerally. Simple, but sessionable. HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Jun 23, 2009 On tap at BXL Cafe. Aroma of cake an spice. Amber/red, thin head persists. Flavor reminds me of orange spice cake. Nice drinkability. Good finish. kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2009 Draft, at BXL Belgian Cafe, 5/22/09. Pours clear amber with a bit of a reddish hue, capped by a huge tan head. Yeast dominates the aroma, along with notes of spice, caramel, banana, and pepper. Flavor is also heavy on the yeast, with citrus, earth, overripe fruit, white pepper, banana, caramel and spice adding complexity. Banana and spice linger on the palate. Medium bodied, with fairly high carbonation. This was very refreshing, a perfect beer for a hot NYC day. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Mar 12, 2009 Had this back in the summer of 2008.. forgot to rate. Hazy amber/orangish. Taste is yeasty and some spice. Very good, the best beer choice at BXL, IMO. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jan 28, 2009 Tap at BXL. Very yeasty nose, loaded with banana chips and bubblegum and sweet corn. Slightly buttery flavor, very spicy and yeasty, with light carbonation. Easy drinking. A little sweet for me, and not expressive enough. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 Hazy amber beer with a very thick pillowy white head. Lots of soft Belgian malt aroma. Fruity nose with a light spiciness on the back. Lots of cherry/raspberry fruit with a soft coriander/peppery spiciness as well. It actually seems more fruity and less spicy than the regular amber. A lightly wheaty tartness on the back as well. Nice fruity Belgian ale. Quite enjoyable. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Mar 3, 2008 Draught at BXL Belgian Cafe, NYC. Hazy orange/golden color, ok white head. Fruity caramel aroma, some yeast and some sourish notes. Fruity flavor, a few different tropical fruits can be found. Some citrus, some yeast, some hoppy notes.
