Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

750mL bottle at our 3rd KW group tasting. Thanks to whoever supplied this one. Pours a nice deep hazy straw gold with a small white cap. The aroma screams sweet fruity esters, peach and melon feature prominently. The flavour has that upfront followed by minor spritz like champagne. Some dankness but nothing that would suggest Brett. Very sweet and fruity, a bit lacking and perhaps that takes away from the better aspects of this beer. Maybe I had higher expectations for this brewery which I guess is my own fault. Decent but it kind of tastes like they threw a bunch of jube-jube candies in the mash for some reason.

Pours a yellow-gold color with a two finger white head. Aroma is spices, bread, banana, some citrus. Taste starts out sweet and then the spices come through. A little carbonation finish and very clean.

On tap. Light amber pour, no head. Floral and citrus aroma. Spicy and flavorful, with malt, ginger, and citrus. Mellow finish. Light bodied, but not wimpy. Very nice brew.

Bottle shared with Steve at WOB. Had this before but never rated it. Good aromas of orange zest and spices. Flavors of coriander, orange peel and nutmeg. Finishes very bubbly, crisp and clean on the palate.

[1881-20081205] Tap. Slight petrol flower yeast aroma. Clear, light yellow body with a quick white foamy head. More light flower yeast in the flavour. Light-medium body. Fair.
